Sorry to hear your having problems. What are your specs ? Do you have wireless internet ? Does this happen with all the servers you connect to,or just ours? Do you have Ati or Nvdia GPU? let me know !!\

Hi guys! I have a problem I would like to discuss to see if anybody else has experienced the same thing as I have. Lately, whenever I attempt to connect to the gun game server, I get disconnected after about 3-5 seconds, I get the red connection warning in the upper right hand corner. I also loose connectivity to the internet. Then, I have to reboot my router to get access back. This happens with serveral other servers but not all.
Does anybody have any thoughts? Any advice would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks,
Spectre

Hey Spectre,
Not sure if it will help you but, a friend of mine had the same issue a while back and if your sure that yours is not connectivity / firewall related you could try the same fix that worked for him. This was over a year ago though...
I had him close steam, go into his steam directory and delete the following files (they should auto-update from steam next time you open it, I just tried it on my pc to make sure)
Steam.dll
SteamUI.dll
ClientRegistry.Blob
Deleting those 3 files is kind of a generic "steam is f*cked up" fix...
There were a couple more that I deleted as well if that doesn't do the trick that are in the config folder inside of your steam directory. These will auto update when you connect to a server for the first time.
config\serverbrowser.vdf
config\masterservers.vdf
Not sure if this will help you but it worked for my buddy like a year ago. It will drop your favorites out of your list so write them down or remember them if you have a big server favorites list.
Hope it helps.
Try lowering your rates, see if that allows you to connect.
FINALLY,
I got it working. Turns out it was my router firewall. It was blocking the ports required for the game to maintain contact with the server even though I had rules in place to allow the traffic. So, I replaced the router, end of connection problems.
Thanks to those who responded with helpful remarks.
Later!
